He was a partner at Anderson & Darensburg, LLC, a litigation-intensive law firm, and Ranord co-founded and served as the executive director of Community Volunteers Association, a community based non-profit servicing at-risk youth and the elderly. His law practice has taken him into the spheres of entertainment, mass transportation, housing, employment, and training. It has entailed commercial, contract, and casualty defense litigation. Ranord served in the positions of In-House Counsel, Director of Risk Management, and Interim General Counsel during his tenure with Transit Management of Southeast Louisiana, Inc., a regional transportation company.  Ranord has also served as a Hearing Officer/Administrative Judge for the City of New Orleans.

Throughout his legal career, Ranord has provided legal advice, drafted contracts, and supervised a large staff of legal and support personnel. He has volunteered for the Court Appointed Special Advocate program (CASA) to serve as an advocate for children in court. Other volunteer positions include membership on the Judicial Reform Task Force and the New Orleans Pro-Bono Project. Ranord has been appointed to the Louisiana Governor’s Advisory Council on Safe and Drug-Free Schools and Communities and worked for many other worthy causes. As an expert in crime prevention and public transportation, he wrote and presented a seminar called “Caught on Tape: The Power of Video Surveillance to Promote Safety, Reduce Crime, and Minimize Liability of Public Transportation Providers.”

In his capacity as a business consultant, Ranord has served as legal counsel to the Small Business Exchange and prepared presentations and conducted seminars on the Legal Business Contracts and the “Legal Aspects of Business”.

Born and raised in New Orleans, Ranord keeps one foot in the Crescent City while maintaining a global vision. He’s a member of the British American Project, a professional organization designed to foster ties between the United Kingdom and the United States, and he’s been selected as a fellow to the Transportation Foundation International Transit Studies Program in Greece and Italy. Ranord has also studied the French language, international policy, and art history in Toulon, France.

While staying active in New Orleans public life, Ranord attends professional, networking, and volunteer events in a number of cities including Atlanta, New York City, and Los Angeles.
